What does being healthy really mean?

To me being healthy means having control over your mindset and finding a balance for all of the things in your life.

Being healthy doesn’t have to be scary or unreachable. I always get comments from people that say, “I could never do what you do”. The truth is no you couldn’t do it with that mindset. You are already your biggest obstacle. It starts with your mindset and how you think and perceive you and the things around you. If you say you can’t, well you can’t. Understanding that your actions result in some sort of reaction. That your thoughts come to life in your actions.

It took me years to realize I was not in a good place mentally. I was always finding reasons why I couldn’t do certain things. It was me making up excuses why I didn’t deserve them. I will tell you that you will not be more deserving of what you want than you are right now. You just have to make a decision to go for it and take action to make it happen, but you can’t quit when it gets hard. Those hard times are when growth happens and you learn the most. The more you let excuses take over, the further away you’ll be from making those things happen. Learn from the past but don’t live in the past. Have a positive outlook on life and more positive things will start happening. If you look for the negative then the negative will show up. Learn to let things go and move forward without looking back because you’re not going that way.

Having balance in your life is so important. You need to make time for yourself. Find something you enjoy and do it. Everyone needs something else to focus on other than their day to day commitments like work, school, being a spouse or parent. That’s when you get burnt out. It’s helpful to find something that gives you a good challenge, which leads to accomplishment. If you try to do something that makes you happy everyday it will help you look at life differently and help you feel unstuck. Try new things and be open minded.

Being healthy starts with an open mind and taking control of your thoughts to create a mindset that sets you up for success. Then looking at what you’re putting into your body and how you’re taking care of your overall physical health. It all works together when its balanced out. It creates healthy habits you can maintain, and a life is more enjoyable.

Today is the day, make a change!
